Sometimes you can notice that video quality on the end platform differs from the preview to the Restream account.
Pro tip: Please check your video resolution in Studio settings and make sure it's not set to 480P 30 FPS. Stream quality will be low compared to 720P or 1080P.
Instruction:
During this 3-5 minute test, you would need to do the same thing you would usually do in Restream Studio, like sharing a screen, changing layouts, playing a video, etc.
For this test, we need to use Google Chrome. If you do not have it installed, you can download and install it using this link.
Once Chrome is installed, open it and access the Record-only mode of Restream Studio on the homepage.
Start recording a session in Studio by clicking Start Recording.
Open a new browser tab in Chrome and copy-paste this text in the URL address bar: chrome://webrtc-internals/.
A window like this will appear:
Find the first https://studio.restream.io/?record-only
Continue recording for about 5 minutes or so. Then click on Create Dump at the top left part of the webRTC page.
You will see the option to Download the PeerConnection updates and stats data.
Click on it to download a text file. Send us a copy of that text file via chat, and we'll take it from there!
How can I check the result myself?
Repeat step 5 from the instruction above.
Look for the last RTCOutboundRTPVideoStream.
Tip: You can use the find tool. Press CTRL + F on your keyboard. Just type in RTCOutboundRTPVideoStream and hit Enter until you get to the last RTCOutboundRTPVideoStream.
Press on RTCOutboundRTPVideoStream to see the details. Search for qualityLimitationReason parameter
Possible reasons may include none, bandwidth, CPU.
Please keep in mind that the reason may change during the stream. We always recommend using a hardwired internet connection (Ethernet cable) as WiFi may flicker, which may impact your stream.
