GoLive is an amazing new feature that allows you to stream from your device with just a browser and a webcam! No additional settings, no need to download software, just GO Live instantly! 

How do I go live?

To go live, go to your Restream Dashboard and click “Start” on the right side. Your browser may ask you if you want to grant Restream permission to use the camera and microphone on your device, you will need to click “Allow.” If you’re not seeing this prompt, please see our troubleshooting guide below:


If everything has connected correctly, you should see your camera’s preview in the window with a “Go Live Now” button. You will need to click that button to start the stream. It can take a moment for GoLive to connect and you will be live with Restream! 

When you are done streaming, click “Finish Streaming” at the bottom and confirm in the prompt. Your stream will then stop and transmission is complete! 

Can I capture my screen? 

We do not officially support screen casting just yet, however, we are actively testing this feature. If you would like to test out this in-development feature, click the button below to activate it on your account: 


This feature is in development so it may have issues. If you run into something, let us know in our 24/7 Live Chat! Right now, the largest known issue is regarding resizing windows; it is recommended to avoid resizing windows when using GoLive screen capture.

What kind of computer do I need?

Most computers made within the last three years should work great with GoLive. Chromebooks are supported, however, your mileage may vary depending on the hardware of the device. 

What quality option should I use?

For best results, we recommend using the Medium quality option. If you are confident in your network and devices ability to stream at High, you can increase it. If you have issues with staying live or lagging on Medium, try taking the quality down to Low. 

Can I use my phone?

At this time, GoLive does not support mobile smartphones. Our awesome engineers are working their magic to make this available soon! 

What resolution does GoLive support? 

We support any resolution up to 1080p (1920x1080). You can change the resolution used by GoLive by clicking the settings icon at the top left of the GoLive screen and changing the drop-down to a supported resolution.
