Green Screen is a great way for content creators to make their live streams more engaging and professional-looking π
You can now use your green screen (or blue screen, magenta screen, or even a custom option) with Restream Studio and replace it with a virtual background π.
Note: This article covers the use of a physical green screen! If you don't have a physical background behind you, check out our Virtual Backgrounds feature, which requires no additional equipment.
How does it work?
Go to Restream Studio and press the gear icon to open the Settings menu.
Navigate to the Virtual Background section.
Choose the key color (green, blue, magenta or custom) depending on which screen you have.
βAdditional equipment needed: solid green (blue/magenta/custom) background.Choose a virtual background.
Tip: You can upload custom virtual backgrounds. Use a 1920x1080px image for the best quality.
Recommendations β¨
Green screens work better with digital cameras.
Green screens require less light than blue screens.
Lighting is important! With green screens, itβs all about even lighting. Any uneven coloration will make the screen more difficult to use. At minimum, youβll need two lights with diffusers β one for each end of the screen.
In order to avoid disappearing into your background, please ensure that your clothes are not the same color as your green screen. For the best results, wear dark contrasting colors.
Troubleshooting π§
