Having a place where you can test your setup and privately prepare your guests can be a game-changer for your streams. An easy way to do this is to create a stream draft that serves as a “green room.”
How to use a stream draft as a green room
Locate the card of your upcoming Studio stream on your home screen.
Click the three dots and select Duplicate.
This will create a copy of your Studio setup in Restream.
Click Enter Studio under the duplicate stream card.
You can now use this copy of your original Studio as a green room.
To test the setup with your guests, click Sources, copy the invite link, and share it with them. Make sure their mic and camera are working and prepare them for the stream.
You can learn more about inviting and managing guests here.
To record a test, click Go Live, turn off your channels, and click Start Streaming. This will help you test your scenes and check the quality of your audio and video without going live on your channels. Once you're done, you can check the recording on your storage.
You can also test your scenes, transitions, and media without recording. Just imitate the flow of your stream in the green room and test everything without disturbing the scenes in your real Studio.
When you're ready to start your stream, head back to your home screen and click Enter Studio under the original stream card.
💡 Don't forget to copy and share the invite link to the real stream with your guests. This will be different than the invite link you used for the green room. You can copy it from the invite button on your stream card or directly from inside the Studio.
Requirements
