Here at Restream we have very loose guidelines on our incoming streaming settings, as we don't display your streams to an audience; instead, we send it off to your end-platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, Facebook and, more.

With that in mind, it's important to make sure you follow the guidelines set by each platform you intend to stream to with Restream. To get a quick overview of what these guidelines are, check out our Platform Setup section!

Popular Platforms' Guidelines Sets

Here you can see common highest sets of parameters for platforms that have more strict limitations than other platforms.

Periscope & Facebook

If you stream to Periscope and Facebook at the same time as well as to other platforms, you want to make sure that your stream is matching restrictions that Periscope and Facebook have or use our Transcoding to be able to send a better quality stream to other platforms. Some streamers have less strict limitations on Facebook - for them recommended Facebook settings will be different. If you stream has higher parameters than suggested, you may and will have troubles at these two platforms.
