Keep your stream live even if your connection drops. A fallback video will automatically play when your stream goes offline, helping you avoid dead air and stay live across platforms while you reconnect.
How to set up stream disconnect protection
From your home screen, open any RTMP setup.
• To create a new setup, click New Stream → Encoder | RTMP.
• To use an existing setup, select it from your list of streams.Click the Settings gear on the right sidebar.
Select Disconnect protection.
Choose whether you'll be streaming with RTMP, SRT, or WHIP. Copy the connection details into your encoder.
Select how long the fallback video should play: 5, 15, or 30 minutes.

Your changes are saved automatically.
Start streaming. If your stream fails, the fallback video will play for the duration you selected.
Requirements
This feature is available to Business and custom Enterprise plans.
Business plan users get a default "We'll be right back" video. To upload your own custom video, contact our Sales team about upgrading to Enterprise.
Enterprise users can additionally set up a backup stream with disconnect protection to add an extra layer of reliability before the fallback video plays.
Disconnect protection is available for RTMP, SRT, and WHIP streams.
This must be configured before you go live. It cannot be enabled during an active stream.

Once you resume streaming, the fallback video stops playing, and your live feed continues. Your viewers will see a seamless transition back to your live content.
What if my custom video is shorter or longer than my selected duration?

The default "We'll be right back" video (17 seconds) loops automatically until you reconnect or the time limit is reached.
If you're on an Enterprise plan with a custom video: shorter videos will loop, and longer videos will be cut off at your selected duration. For example, a 10-minute video with a 5-minute duration will play only the first 5 minutes.

If you don't reconnect within your selected time limit (5, 15, or 30 minutes), your stream will end on the destination platforms. You'll need to start a new stream to go live again.

Yes, disconnect protection is fully compatible with scheduled events. Locate your scheduled event on your home screen. Click on it to open the RTMP setup, then follow the steps above.
