Show your viewers the incoming messages from your platforms on your stream's feed with Restream Chat's embed option.

Choose an embed code

Open your Chat settings and click on the Embed in stream tab. You'll find a few options to choose from:

  • Embed chat

Display comments from all platforms on your screen.

  • Embed chat for Twitch only

Display comments exclusively from Twitch streams.

  • Embed chat for events

Display comments for one specific Restream Event.

Customize your embed code

Customize how the chat embed appears on your stream by selecting options such as theme, message alignment, opacity, and scale. You can preview the changes in real-time as you try out different options.

How to embed chat into an encoder

This example will use OBS Studio, but any software supporting Browser Sources will work the same way.

  1. Copy your embed code from this page.

  2. From OBS Studio (or similar software), click the "+" under Sources and select Browser.

  3. Name the source something like "Restream Chat" and click OK.

  4. Delete the URL in the URL box in the pop-up window and paste the URL you copied on Restream, then click OK.

Every time you change your Chat settings, select the Chat source and click refresh to get the updated look.

  5. The chat will then appear on top of your stream in the OBS Preview window. You can adjust the size like you would with any other OBS source.

💡 Easily show your chat on-screen with the click of a button in Restream Studio.
