Broadcast your Zoom meetings and webinars with Restream to reach a wider audience.
Enable Custom Live Streaming
💡 Only owners and admins can enable custom live streaming for a Zoom account. If you don't have that level of access, ask an owner/admin to follow the steps below.
Sign in to Zoom on your browser.
Go to your Settings.
For Meetings:
Click Meeting.
Click In Meeting (Advanced).
Scroll down and enable Allow livestreaming of meetings.
Check the box next to Custom Live Streaming Service
For Webinars:
Click Save if prompted.
How to start streaming from Zoom to Restream
Sign in to Zoom on your browser.
Click Schedule a Meeting or Schedule a Webinar.
Fill in the details and click Save/Schedule.
Click the Live Streaming tab.
Click Configure custom streaming.
Go to your Restream home screen.
Click New Stream and select RTMP | Encoder.
💡 If you have already created your RTMP stream, click RTMP Setup on the existing stream card.
Copy your RTMP URL and stream key from Restream.
Go back to Zoom and paste your RTMP URL and stream key in the relevant fields.
For Live streaming page URL, link a platform you'll stream on, like YouTube.
This is a Zoom requirement; no matter what link you add here, Restream will still send the stream to all of your connected channels.
Leave "Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast" unchecked.
Click Save to confirm and apply your live streaming settings.
Once you start the meeting or webinar, click More.
Select Livestream > Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.
Restream will automatically send your stream to your destinations.
Requirements
You can only stream from Zoom to Restream, not vice versa.
If your Zoom requires an encrypted RTMP URL, follow the steps in this guide.
Zoom's requirements for live streaming:
Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
The Host is Licensed or is assigned a Webinar License
Zoom Client version 4.0.29183.0407 or higher on PC
Zoom Client version 4.0.29208.0410 or higher on Mac
Group HD video/Full HD (1080p) is enabled for higher video quality
Monitoring your stream
Once you've initiated your broadcast via Zoom, you can go back to your home screen on Restream and click View Stream under your RTMP stream card. From there, you can oversee your stream's performance, manage the channels you're streaming to, and keep an eye on viewer counts.
