RTMPS is a streaming protocol that adds an extra layer of security to your stream.

How to stream with RTMPS from your encoder

This example will use OBS Studio, but any software will work similarly.

  1. From your home screen, click New Stream and select RTMP | Encoder.

💡 If you have already created your stream or if you'd like to re-use a previous stream, just click RTMP Setup on the existing stream card.

  2. Click RTMPS on the preview area, or click Stream Settings and select RTMPS.

  3. Copy the URL and stream key.

  4. Go to OBS and select Settings in the bottom-right corner.

  5. Go to the Stream tab.

  6. Under the Service drop-down, select Custom.

  7. Paste the information you copied from Restream in the relevant fields.

  8. Click Apply.

  9. Click Start Streaming in OBS; your stream will be sent to Restream using RTMPS.

Requirements

  • Using RTMPS is available for all users, including those on a free plan.

💡 Set up your encrypted Zoom stream with an RTMPS URL from Restream
