FAQ

Can I record without streaming live?

Yes! Restream's Record Only feature allows you to capture audio/video content without streaming live - perfect for testing, rehearsals, or creating editable content for later use.

How long are recordings saved for?

Recordings are stored for 15 days on Standard and Professional plans and 30 days on the Business plan.

How long can I record for?

You can record for up to 6 hours on a Standard plan, 10 hours on Professional, and 20 hours on Business. This limit applies per stream; there's no limit to the total number of recordings you can store!

Can I recover an expired Recording?

Recordings cannot be recovered beyond your plan’s expiration date. If you originally streamed to Facebook, you can download the saved playback of your video, as shown here. For YouTube, you can follow these steps.

Why does video resolution change in split video recordings?

Split video recordings capture the recorded source's resolution. When the camera feed is resized to accommodate a specific layout, this applies to the recording, too.

💡 Use Restream's video trimmer to quickly and easily edit your videos, cutting out unnecessary parts or creating highlights.
