FAQ

Is RTMP Source compatible with Events?

Yes, RTMP Source can be used with Restream Events too.

Will my URL and stream key change or stay the same?

These details are static and will not change unless you choose to manually refresh your key. Note that if you're in the Studio for a Restream Event, your stream key will be unique to that session and cannot be refreshed.

How do I add the RTMP settings to my encoder?

Each streaming encoder is different, but whichever one you use should have a field for stream settings, where you select where your output will be delivered. Look for keywords like "RTMP URL" or "server" and "stream key".

The RTMP URL we provide needs to go into the server selection and our key in the stream key section. For example, on OBS, you need to set up as seen below.

How is RTMP Source useful?

It allows you to bring external sources like Zoom, OBS, and other streaming software directly into Restream Studio, so you can customize and enhance your streams with Studio's graphics, captions, and other features.

For example, your live stream from Zoom can be enhanced with Studio features before appearing on your streaming platforms.
