Degraded quality should never happen in Studio streams - let's fix it.
Check your settings and equipment
Click the gear ⚙️ icon under your stream preview in Restream Studio.
Check the input under Live Stream Quality. For 1080p streams, make sure it's not set to 720p.
Ensure you are well-lit for better video quality.
Confirm that your camera supports higher resolutions, like HD or Full HD.
Studio sets your camera to the maximum resolution based on your settings but can't exceed your camera's capability. Consider upgrading your camera if needed.
Check your browser
Ensure you're using the latest browser version and update if needed.
Disable ad blockers and extensions that may interfere with your setup.
Try another browser; Chrome is recommended for Studio.
Check your internet connection
Your upload speed may not be high enough to support your resolution.
Run an internal speed test to check your upload speed to Restream servers.
We recommend at least 10 Mbps for HD and ideally over 25 Mbps for Full HD.
If your speed isn't high enough for Full HD, try lowering the quality to HD.
If your speeds are too low, reboot your modem/router and try an ethernet cable for stability.
If ethernet isn't possible, move closer to the router.
If low speeds persist, consider contacting your ISP.
Check if your device is overloaded
Start streaming or recording in Restream Studio.
On Windows, press CTRL + Alt + Delete, then open Task Manager.
On Mac, open your Launchpad and then the Activity Monitor.
If your CPU usage is 80% or higher:
Close unnecessary apps running in the background.
Keep your laptop plugged in.
Reboot.
Lower your resolution.
If overload persists, consider upgrading to a device with more processing power.
