Ready to earn from your live streams? If your YouTube channel is eligible, you can easily enable monetization in Restream to run ads during your broadcast.
Eligibility
To run ads during your live streams, your channel must:
Be part of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). You can view this article for the YPP overview, eligibility, and application instructions.
Have ads enabled in the Earn tab in YouTube Studio.
How to enable YouTube ads
Access any stream setup: Studio, RTMP, or a scheduled event.
💡 YouTube monetization must be enabled for each stream setup. Once enabled, it stays active for that setup.
Locate YouTube under the list of channels and click Edit next to it.
Under YouTube Monetization, turn on Run ads on stream.
Select your preferred ad frequency for mid-roll ads:
Conservative (fewer ads)
Balanced
Aggressive (more ads)
Click Save.

No. YouTube no longer lets you manually choose ad formats. When monetization is enabled, YouTube selects the appropriate ad types automatically.
Do I have to turn on monetization every time I stream?

Not necessarily. Once you turn on monetization in a specific stream setup, it stays enabled for that setup unless you turn it off. But if you create a new stream setup, you’ll need to enable it again there.
