Connect to any platform with an RTMP URL and stream key, even if it's not on our list of supported channels.

How to add a Custom RTMP Channel

  1. From your home screen, click the Destinations button.

  2. Click Add Channels.

  3. At the bottom, select Custom RTMP.

  4. Fill in the RTMP URL and stream key as provided by the platform you are connecting to, then click Add Channel.

  5. Your channel is set up - you just need to choose how you'll go live.

Requirements

  • You need a paid Restream plan to stream on Custom RTMP channels.

  • API-dependent features like Restream Chat and Analytics will not work for Custom RTMP channels.

FAQ

What does "Use authentication" mean?

Some platforms require that you enter a username and password in order to connect, but normally this is not necessary and can be skipped upon setup.

Can I use RTMPS instead of RTMP?

Yes, the steps are the same. You would simply input your RTMPS URL instead of an RTMP URL.

What does "Title setup isn't supported for the platform" mean?

This message will appear under your list of destinations when you start a new stream or set up a Restream Event.

This is not an error but a warning to notify you that Custom RTMP destinations do not support setting up titles from Restream. The titles will continue working normally for the rest of our supported platforms, and your stream will reach the Custom RTMP channel just fine, despite the warning displayed.
