If you are facing issues streaming to YouTube, you may be seeing any of the following behaviors:
Stream status is stuck as "Sending Data"
The stream doesn't start on YouTube
You see an error that you don't have live streaming permissions
Basic Checks
YouTube has a verification process in place to activate your channel for streaming. Please make sure that you have permission for streaming by clicking here and verifying that you see the following.
If this feature isn't activated, proceed to verify your channel. You can find more information on how to verify your Youtube account here.
Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours after you verify your phone number for YouTube to fully activate your channel for live streaming.
Reconnecting your YouTube channel
If you have all the necessary permissions but you're still facing issues, you can remove your YouTube connection and add it back to reset the connection.
Start by removing your YouTube channel from the Restream dashboard.
Press the "Edit/Add destinations" button.
Press "Edit" beside the YouTube channel.
Click on "Remove destination".
Generate a new stream key at https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard.
Make sure to select the "Stream" option on the left-hand side of the YouTube dashboard.
The following page will provide you with the option to reset your stream key.
Once you've reset the key, go back to the Restream dashboard and try adding the YouTube channel again.
