With Pairs for encoders, you can add your channels to someone's stream, even when it's done with additional streaming software. Collaborative streaming is now easy.

How to add your channels to an encoder stream

  1. Access the invite link provided by the host.

  2. If you don't have a Restream account, enter an email.

If you already have an account, click Log in instead and enter your credentials.

  3. Click Add Channel and select the channels you want to connect to the stream. Channels you add will be enabled by default.

  4. Your paired channels will go live automatically once the host starts the stream.

Requirements

  • You can pair up to 3 channels for free (including paid ones, like Facebook pages or Custom RTMP channels).

  • If you have your own Restream plan, you can pair as many channels as your plan allows.

    • Note: SRT channels can only be paired if you have access to a Business or Enterprise plan. Learn more.

  • You can only pair your channels before the stream starts, not while it's live.

  • You can visit your pairing link to make changes to your paired channels before the stream starts or to monitor it once it begins.

  • You cannot join on-screen through Restream when using an encoder, but the stream will automatically go live on your paired channels.

  • If you're joining on-screen through your host's streaming software, check in with them directly for instructions on how you'll go about that.

FAQ

How far in advance can I pair my channels?

There is no limit. You can pair channels at any time, regardless of how far in the future it is.

Can I unpair my channels if I change my mind?

Yes. Just open the invite link again and toggle off the channels you want to unpair.

Why does the event announcement only show up on some of my channels?

Currently, only Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn support creating event announcements in advance. Any other channels you pair will automatically start streaming when the event is live.
