Go live on your YouTube channel to captivate and connect with your audience.

From your <a href="https://app.restream.io/home" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">home screen</a>, click the Destinations button. ​

Choose whether you want to connect your YouTube channel or a specific YouTube event.

Select your YouTube account from the authorization page and click Allow.

You will then be redirected back to the Restream dashboard. ​

- If you connected your channel, it will automatically be added to your list of destinations. ​
- If you connected to a specific event, you'll see a list of your channel's events.

Your YouTube is ready to stream - you just need to <a href="https://support.restream.io/en/articles/9090939-choose-how-to-go-live">choose how you'll go live</a>.

1. From your <a href="https://app.restream.io/home" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">home screen</a>, click the Destinations button. ​
2. Click Add Channels. ​
3. Click YouTube. 
 
4. Choose whether you want to connect your YouTube channel or a specific YouTube event.
 
5. Select your YouTube account from the authorization page and click Allow.
 
6. You will then be redirected back to the Restream dashboard. ​
 - If you connected your channel, it will automatically be added to your list of destinations. ​
 - If you connected to a specific event, you'll see a list of your channel's events.
 
7. Your YouTube is ready to stream - you just need to <a href="https://support.restream.io/en/articles/9090939-choose-how-to-go-live">choose how you'll go live</a>.

Streaming must be enabled for your YouTube channel. YouTube requires you to verify your phone number and wait 24 hours until you can stream for the first time. You must be the owner of the YouTube channel you're adding, not a manager or editor.

The maximum title length is 100 characters. The maximum description length is 5000 characters.

Make sure you're choosing the correct Gmail account connected to your YouTube channel. If you have multiple, you may be selecting the wrong one. 

Try connecting YouTube again through an incognito window in your browser to avoid connecting to a default account. 

Why is Restream connecting to the wrong YouTube channel?

Even if you've already enabled live streaming on YouTube, you still need to wait 24 hours to go live. Clicking "Go Live" directly on YouTube will prompt the countdown to begin. I'm verified for live streaming on YouTube, so why can't I go live?

Yes, streaming in vertical mode from Restream Studio will automatically send a vertical Short to YouTube. Restream Chat is enabled this as well.
