Telegram is the world's 10th most popular social network, with over 500 million active users. It combines instant messaging (similar to WhatsApp) and channels for broadcasting content (similar to Instagram).

⚙️ Requirements

  • Streaming to Telegram is available on any of our plans, including the basic tier.

  • You need to be the owner/admin of the group/channel to be able to stream.

  • Telegram App for Android does not support the live streaming feature. For the best experience, we recommend using the Telegram desktop app.

🧐 How to connect Telegram to Restream

  1. Download Telegram App and create a channel or group in Telegram.

  2. Select Stream with inside the channel/group.

  3. Copy Telegram RTMP Settings.

    ❗️You'll need to reaccess this window and click "Start Streaming" after you go live on Restream Studio or your encoder.

  4. Navigate to your Restream Dashboard.

  5. Proceed to click the "Edit Destinations" button, followed by "Add Destination".

  6. Select the option "Telegram" from the list and fill in the RTMP URL and stream key as provided by Telegram.

  7. Your channel is now connected! Once you start streaming in Restream Studio or your encoder (OBS, Ecamm, etc), you need to press Start Streaming in Telegram. And that's it - you're live!

    💡 Chat comments will only be visible in Telegram, not in Restream.
