If you're unable to stream on your Facebook page and see the error message "Your account needs to have an established presence before you can go live on Facebook," it's because you do not yet meet the criteria to go live.

Requirements

Facebook requires your account to have an established presence before you can go live. We suggest continuing to grow your page and trying again after a while to see if its status has changed.

In the meantime, you can still use Restream to stream on other supported platforms, like YouTube or LinkedIn. You can even share a link to your YouTube or LinkedIn stream on your Facebook page to keep your followers engaged and updated.

Additionally, you can still connect and stream to other Facebook channels, like your profile or a group.

FAQ

Can I go live on Facebook directly?

If you attempt to go live on your Facebook page on your desktop, you'll receive the same error you see above. However, Facebook says you can still go live from a mobile device.

Does Facebook have set criteria for going live?

Yes. Starting June 10th, 2024, Meta requires Facebook accounts to be at least 60 days old and Pages and professional profiles to have at least 100 followers to go live.

Can I stream with a Custom RTMP channel?

No. You would not be able to access the Live Producer on Facebook to gather your RTMP URL and Stream Key.

💡 Don't let an error halt your content; grow your audience on other channels.
