The Upload and Stream feature lets you turn a recorded video into a live stream and create an interactive live show with real-time chat in just a few clicks.

How to schedule a pre-recorded video:

  1. Navigate to your Restream Dashboard and click the Upload & Stream a Video File button.

  2. Choose an existing video file, or click Upload Video to upload a video from your computer or mobile phone. You can also click the Recordings tab to choose an existing Recording from your storage.

You may need a paid plan depending on the size of your video. You can review our pricing plans and upload limits here.

  3. Fill in your Event details:

    • Title

    • Description

    • Date and time you plan to go live

    • How many times you'd like the video to loop

    • Check the Create an event page on social platforms box if you want to create an Event post on your end platforms and notify your audience in advance. (currently for on LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube only)

    • Add a Thumbnail. You can upload a custom image to use as a preview before you go live. (Recommended size: 1280 x 720)

  4. Toggle on all the platforms you would like to stream to and press the Create Event button.

The event is now created and will start automatically at its scheduled time. There's nothing you need to do, just enjoy your live show!

Bonus tips:

  • Monitor your stream

    • If you want to monitor your live stream or chat with your audience in real-time while your video is playing, a preview of your stream along with the chat will be available on your dashboard.

  • Get a shareable link to your event

    • You can get sharable links to your events on LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube. Click the channel icons under the created event, and click the "View on..." button to visit the Event URL for each platform. Then you can copy the URL and share it in advance.

  • Edit your Event

    • Click the pencil icon to edit your Event - including your destinations, title, description, time, date, or to switch the file attached to your Event. These actions can take place at any point before the scheduled time of your event.
