You can easily name your stream or update its description and content category.

How to set the title/description of your stream

  1. From your home screen, click New Stream.

  2. Choose how you want to stream: via our Studio or RTMP | Encoder.

💡 If you have already created your stream or if you'd like to re-use a previous stream, just enter the relevant stream card on your home screen.

    1. For Studio: Click Channels in the top-right corner and click Update titles.

    2. For RTMP: Click Update Titles on your right or the pencil icon in the top-left corner.

  3. Enter your title and/or description, and click Save.

Pro tip: If you have already enabled your preferred channels under a stream draft, you may also click the channel icons on the relevant card and select Update titles.

Requirements

  • Updating stream details before going live is helpful for unscheduled streams. Scheduled streams will already carry the title/description you had set for your event.

  • Some channels do not support setting up titles from Restream. In that case, a message that says "Set your title directly on the streaming platform" will appear.

FAQ

What does "Set your title directly on the streaming platform" mean?

This message may appear under some of your streaming destinations when you start a new stream or set up a Restream Event. It indicates a channel that does not support setting titles via Restream.

This is not an error—the titles will continue working normally for the rest of our supported platforms. For the channels that display this message, just make sure to update your stream's title on the end platform directly.

The game I'm streaming doesn't show up in the menu.

If a game doesn't show up under the dropdown when updating all channels at once, please let our Support team know, and we'll do our best to add it to the next iteration.

In the meantime, you can update each channel individually to see a list of games specific to that platform and a wider range of options. You can also update your game on the end platform directly.

Can I update my title while I'm live?

We recommend updating your stream's title before going live. Once you are live, you will still be able to edit your details on Restream, but some platforms may not reflect the changes. This will depend on your connected channels and what they support.

What's the difference between an unscheduled and a scheduled stream?

Unscheduled streams are lives you start on the spot, while scheduled streams are tied to events that are created in advance. You can learn more about scheduled and unscheduled streams here.

💡 Notify your followers about your upcoming stream and increase your viewership.
