How to go live using Restream Studio

  2. Enter Restream Studio and click on Go Live as you would on a desktop.

How to go live using a streaming app designed for mobile

If you need to capture your screen while streaming from your phone, or you're looking for an advanced setup, there are streaming apps for iPhone and Android devices that can help. You can choose the one you like, as Restream supports any app that uses RTMP streaming.

Some options include Larix Broadcaster, Streamlabs, Broadcast Me, Wirecast Go, CameraFi, and more.

  • If you're streaming from an Android device, use Google Chrome. For iOS users, use Safari.

  • Screen sharing is not supported for Studio on a mobile browser.

  • For the best possible performance:

    • Use a phone that has been upgraded within the last 5 years.

    • Ensure your device is fully charged and background apps are closed for the best possible performance.

    • A dedicated WiFi connection works best for mobile streaming.

How do I change the layout?

If going live in Studio, you can switch layouts under the preview screen.

Can I stream in landscape mode?

Yes. While the Studio on mobile devices is initially set to portrait mode by default, you have the option to switch to landscape mode by using the toggle located under the preview screen.

Why can't I zoom in with my phone camera on my browser?

The ability to zoom in or out with your phone's camera is controlled by your device. This function is not natively available for some devices when using a mobile browser, as you do to stream with Studio on mobile devices.
