There are now two ways to schedule events in Restream.

1. Home Screen

If you see an event card from your previous stream, use it to schedule your next event.

  1. Find the event you want to recreate on your Home screen.

  2. Click the three dots in the top right and choose "Schedule."

  3. Name your event, and set the date and time for your live stream.
The same event card is now scheduled for your upcoming event.

  4. Alternatively, use "Duplicate" to create a new card and schedule it as a separate event without changing the original.

If you have an event card from a past stream that you don't need, you can delete it from your Home screen. This will not delete your stream replay on platforms like YouTube.

2. Restream Studio

  1. On your Home screen, click Create New → Restream Studio.

  2. Enter your Studio to set up your scenes.

  3. When you’re done, click the Schedule button in the top right corner.

💡 Pro Tip: Check the box next to Create an event page on social platforms to notify your audience you are going to go live and let them RSVP.

You can always come back to your event after scheduling and finish setting it up.

How to schedule non-Studio events

Click the Create New button.

Encoder | RTMP will take you straight to your event's scheduling details.

Video File: select the video file you want to schedule, then click Next to move to the scheduling menu. You'll also see an option to loop it up to 10 times.

Playlist: Select multiple video files and click Add to Playlist. You’ll enter a Studio view where you can reorder your videos and customize your playlist. When you’re done, click the Schedule button in the top right corner.

Toggle on the channels you'll stream to and click Create Event.

How to start your live event

Restream Studio

  1. Locate your event card on your home screen and select Enter Studio under the event card.

  2. When you're ready to begin, click Go Live.
You can click "Channels" to double-check if the correct destinations are toggled on.

Encoder

  1. Locate the event on your home screen and click RTMP Settings.

  2. Copy the URL and stream key and paste them into your streaming software.

  3. Start streaming from your software.

Video Files and Playlists

You don't need to do anything - your event will automatically go live at the scheduled time. If you have connected any channels that require a manual start, like TikTok or Instagram, please click the Go Live button on the end platform too.

Requirements

  • Scheduled events are available for all plans, including the free tier, but free users will have Restream branding on their event's thumbnail.

  • Studio events and Playlists are reusable. You can learn more about reusable stream drafts here.

  • Only Facebook profiles and pages, YouTube, and LinkedIn support creating event posts in advance. For other platforms, your stream will show up once you're live.

  • The announcement post box can only be checked during event creation. If you forgot to check it, you can delete the current event and create a new one.

  • The recommended size for thumbnails is 1280x720.

FAQ

Can I schedule a Studio event without entering Studio?

Yes, just click the three dots on the Studio card on your home screen and select Schedule.

Can I reschedule/edit my event?

Yes, just click the three dots on your event card, then select Edit Event.

To reschedule, update the date/time, and Save.

To edit or rename your event, click Edit next to your channels. You can update the title, description, and thumbnail individually for each one.

Can I unschedule my event?

Yes, by clicking the three dots on your event card then selecting Unschedule.

The draft will remain on your home screen for rescheduling or deleting.

Can I duplicate my events?

Your Studio events and Playlists are reusable; their event cards will stay on your home screen to be reused as templates and to stream to over and over again. You can also click the three dots on those event cards to duplicate them and create additional templates.

For Encoders and Video Files, you can duplicate your upcoming or streams and reuse their settings by:

  1. Going to the home screen or your Past streams,

  2. Clicking the three dots on the event card,

  3. Selecting Duplicate.

Can I share a link to my event?

You can get links to your events on Facebook profiles and pages, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

Just click the channel icons under the created event, right-click "View on..." next to each channel and copy the URL. For any platforms that don't support event posts in advance, like X or Twitch, you can share your profile URL with your audience.

Can I invite guests to my event?

Yes, you can invite guests to your Studio event by clicking the Invite Guests icon on your event card on the home screen.

The invitation link is static and will not change. That way, you can share it weeks in advance.

Can I switch between event formats after creating the event?

No, you will need to create a new event from scratch.

Does deleting events on Restream delete the post on end platforms too?

Deleting upcoming events on Restream will also delete posts about the upcoming event on end platforms for Facebook and YouTube. For LinkedIn, the event needs to be manually deleted, as shown here.

Deleting finished events on Restream will not affect the streams and saved videos sent to end platforms.

I checked the “Create an event page on social platforms” box but I don't see my event on my profile's timeline.

When you schedule an event on your Facebook personal profile via Restream, the announcement post will not be automatically posted to your timeline. Instead, the new event will be created on the Facebook Events page. From there, you manually share it on your timeline.

💡 Reusable streams are here to simplify your production; create templates and stream with the same setup over and over again.
