Learn how to launch your first stream with Restream Studio, from zero to hero.

Starting your first live stream may feel intimidating, but Restream makes it easy to go live with just a few simple steps.


How to connect your channels

With Restream, you can broadcast to multiple channels, such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and more. To connect your channels:

  1. Go to your home screen and click Channels on the sidebar.

  2. Click + Add Channels, select your preferred platform, and follow the prompts to connect it to Restream.

  3. For example, if you select Facebook, you'll be prompted to log in to your Facebook account and grant Restream access to your profile.

  4. Repeat these steps to add all the channels you want to stream to.


How to create your first stream with Restream Studio

Restream Studio is an intuitive tool that lets you create high-quality live streams directly from your browser. Here’s how to create and launch your first stream:

  1. From your home screen, click New Stream and select Studio.

  2. Click the Allow mic/cam access button, enter your name, and click Enter Studio.

  3. Use the ⚙️ icon under your stream preview to adjust your settings, if needed.

  4. Set up the scenes you'll need for your stream or add graphics to adjust the look.

  5. Click Channels in the top-right corner, toggle on the platforms you want to stream to, and click Update titles to add a title/description.

  6. When you're ready, click Go Live.

    💡 If you don't want to go live yet, you can leave the Studio and return later or click the Schedule button to create an upcoming event. All the changes you made will be saved under your stream card.

  7. That's it - you've now launched your first stream with Restream Studio!

Requirements

  • Some platforms have their own requirements for going live for the first time. You can consult this collection on our Help Center for detailed information on each channel.

  • Pick the right browser for your operating system:

    • Windows, macOS, and Linux: Chrome (recommended), Firefox, Arc, Edge, Safari (least preferred).

    • Android: Chrome (recommended), Firefox.

    • iOS: Safari 14+

  • Keep your browser updated to the latest version.

  • Avoid ad blockers and browser extensions that may interfere with your setup.
